At Little Explorers, we intend to create, foster, and maintain a safe and stimulating working environment which includes the needs of all the children.
In this holistic educational space our main focus is on the pupil as an individual. Our goal is to allow time and extra support for those who require it regardless of age, ability, or backgrounds. We aim to implement and maintain the social emotional based learning approach as this enables children to be safe, able to flourish and learn at their own pace.
This is where we put the need of the child first over the need of academia. A child’s readiness to learn is our number one priority, when pupils are experiencing challenges with their regulation and finding it difficult to engage with the day set out for them, we will listen to their emotions and learn in a different way. Instead, we will learn to understand our emotional literacy allowing Little Explorers to inspire and grow emotionally literate people! Then when they are focused and their mind, body and soul are ready to work, we work and have fun!
Furthermore, all children who attend Little Explorers will have their own Individual Education Plan – an IEP! Meaning that all of the children will only be working on their own targets, however, everyone’s targets will be achieved through doing the same topics – each child simply has a different aim/focus to the task. There will also be allocated time during their weekly schedule to complete focused work one on one with the teacher on their own personal and holistic development.
